“I have absolutely no idea how I would have coped without Deearna. Linzi’s pregnancy simply broke all the rules. I went to classes to learn the rules and knew exactly what to do when… But in reality it was different: we went to the hospital as directed by ‘the rules’ and they sent us home again despite the contractions being two minutes apart and ridiculously intense. Now I’m out of my comfort zone, the contractions didn’t get easier and I had no idea what to do next except be a strong support for my partner. Deearna worked with us as a maternity nurse for four weeks after the birth of our second baby. The support she provided to all of us during that time was invaluable – obviously she worked particularly closely with my wife who couldn’t praise her highly enough, but she also provided lots of much needed TLC to our three year old daughter as she adjusted to the new arrival and I found her supportive, informative and easy to have in our home.
The assistance and guidance she gave to my wife throughout her stay made what could otherwise have been an incredibly stressful time relatively calm and relaxed. It can be challenging to have someone living in your home but Deearna was very sensitive to that and made sure we still had lots of time together as a family and we really enjoyed having her with us.She was wonderful in caring for our new baby and for all of us and I would absolutely recommend her to anyone thinking of having a maternity nurse.

We were at our wits end what to try with what we thought was a severely windy baby that would just not settle after her feeds, leaving her tired and irritable and us exhausted with no time for making bottles or sleeping!
Deearna showed us where we were going wrong and by the time she left the same day we had a far more contented baby on our hands who slept the longest she’d slept in weeks (3 hours!) and was happy and smiling when she woke up. Unbelievably to us, we managed to get all the bottles, the washing and tidying done before she woke up! Wow!I don’t know what we would have done without her, we can’t thank her enough. Our daughter is now a joy to care for!
